All Yaa Halla, Y'all 2012 participants who are registered in one FULL day of Dance Workshops per Category of competition and all accompanying or competing musicians registered in two (2) workshops (drum or zills rhythm) per category are invited to be contestants in The Yellow Rose of Texas Belly Dance Competition. Performer AND workshop registration must be verified by July 1, 2012. |

Winners of a category in the previous year's competition may not compete in the same category the following year. (Example: If you won in the Rising Star category in 2011, you may not compete in that category in 2012) However, if you placed second or third in any category, you may compete in the same category this year. |

Rising Star
Solo

Under 5 years experience in dance and/or
pre-professional, non-restaurant performer, a non-teacher, and may be
Tribal/Fusion/Alternative or Cabaret |
Troupe (4
performers or more) -
Any length of time dancing, may be
Tribal/Fusion/Alternative and/or Cabaret |
Drum Group (3 to 5 members) - NO TRAPS! Only hand drums and other hand held percussion instruments (all instruments must be carried on and off stage by performing musicians themselves) |

The times allowed for the People's Choice Award performances for ALL CATEGORIES are:
Rising Star: Up to 4 minutes |

First Place Winners
are invited, and should be prepared, to perform as special guest
dancers |

There will be a Show of Stars Thursday, Friday & Saturday while the votes are tallied.
*** Voting
for the Yellow Rose of Texas Belly Dance Competition will be a combination
of the audience's Peoples Choice, and votes from a judges' panel of
acclaimed Professionals in our field. |
