We will be processing the registration forms as we receive them. Once you have been registered in our system, we will print you a confirmation packet and send it to you via the US Postal Service. Be sure to bring this packet with you as a confirmation for your registration. However, event tickets and programs will be handed out at the door before the shows and seminars begin. Packets will be available each day/morning at the Grapevine Convention Center for those attending workshops on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
If you are participating in any of the seminars, we invite you to perform in the evening show. Space is limited and is provided on a 'first come, first serve' basis. In an effort to make the shows run smoothly, performers must adhere to the following expectations:
Check in at the front desk no later than 1 hour before their performance time. If you have not checked in by this time, you will not dance. No exceptions.
Provide 2 tapes or 2 CDs with only your piece of music (if not dancing to live music). It's always a good idea to have a backup, and we require it.
Provide a 3x5 note card with a short bit of information about you or your troupe to be read as an introduction.
The Convention Center does not allow fire, pets, or animals of ANY kind.
Solos are given 4 to 5 minutes, duets and trios up to 5 minutes, and troupe performances no more than 8 minutes. If you go over your allotted time, expect to have your music abruptly ended during your show. You will be notified if this changes.
Please keep in mind that this is a raised stage. Therefore, make sure your costume appropriately covers anything that may be seen from your audience's perspective. This is a family show!
All entertainers must sign a release form.
The last day to sign up to dance is July 15, 2007. You may also fax in your performance registration to 817.282.0844, but it must be received no later than Saturday, July 15th.
The stage is 24' deep and 30' wide. There is one entrance from the side at the back of the stage, or a set of stairs leading up each side of the front of the stage. We always have great shows and we don't want you to miss a minute. Therefore, we provide a television backstage so that you can enjoy every single performance! We also have two large dressing rooms with mirrors for you to get ready. And, as always, we have volunteer staff ready to help you get dressed, pinned, and on your way!
When we receive your registration form, we will automatically mail you a performance registration form with your workshop registration receipt.
Remember to bring some of these commonly forgotten items:
Coverup (to walk from the dressing room to the back-stage area)
Veil, zills, cane or any other necessary props
Sunscreen and bathing suit - it gets HOT down here and there is a pool at the hotel!
Your confirmation packet and any receipts showing payment
Your music (don't forget a backup)
Socks or dance shoes - the Convention Center floor is tiled and very hard on your feet
