Tehara

Tehara first joined Isis in 1998, but she had been exposed to the world of Middle Eastern dance since childhood as her mother taught “bellydancing” at a local junior college.  Tehara now has the old costumes and music and is adding her own passion to her dance as a Star Dancer.  She has performed at studio graduations, the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day parade, the Bedford 4th of July parade, nursing homes, the Christmas hafla, and Yaa Halla Y’all.

She has recently added Ethnic Fusion to her schedule. She says that “this opened up more of the world to me—a bigger world of dance, of cultures, and of the emotions felt by people all over the globe.”  Ethnic Fusion has also brought her into the world of costuming with styles from gypsies to tribes from all over Africa and the Middle East.

Tehara is most grateful to Isis and her commitment to not only the art of Middle Eastern dance, but to the men and women of the studio and the community.  She says, “Isis has the most generous and giving soul.  She doesn’t just teach us; she loves us.”
