Dervilia

Dervilia began Oriental Dance in 2003 after having a life-long love of all dance forms. (Her mother said she was born dancing!)  For many years she studied, performed, and taught classical ballet. She has won several studio awards, including "Star Dancer" in 2004 and "Most Improved Dancer" in 2004.  She has also been nominated as "Most Outgoing Personality."  She was also a contributing writer for "The Chronicles" Magazine in January 2005.  Dervilia thoroughly enjoys playing zills, but her biggest thrill is interacting with the audience.  She says, "Music and dance are woven into every fiber of my being.  They cannot be separated from one another nor from me.  Middle Eastern dance is a celebration of femininity and strength."
